OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS - SPRING SHOW: ‘DREAMS’

Havner’s Frame Shop + Gallery invites all local artists to submit artwork for an opportunity to participate in our upcoming Spring show, “Dreams”. We are looking for a diverse body of artwork in all mediums and styles, as our hope is that this show will be a snapshot of our rich and thriving art community. The gallery will advertise and promote the selected artists for the exhibition and host a formal Opening Reception that will be open to all artists, their friends and family and our Jackson community.
The theme: Dreams are a universal experience. Everyone has experienced a dream- while sleeping, while goal setting. Some of us have realized dreams, some of us have had dreams escape us. What this show serves to present is a visual expression of what we personally and collectively dream for ourselves and our community. And we do not want you to hold back on your expressions. Dream cost us something and the pursuit of those dreams, whether beautiful or painful or somewhere in the between, is a story worth telling. This show serves as an opportunity to express those dreams and the emotions that accompany them. This is a call to show your unique interpretation of "dreams”.
Who Can Participate: All local artists. Working with all mediums.
How Are Artists Selected: Havner’s has compiled a jury of artists that will review all submitted work. The jurors will go through each application and weigh each piece as it relates to the show’s theme. The jury will then elect pieces that they feel best represent a diverse offering of art for our community.
Accepted Artwork: Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, site-specific installations, illustration, collage, etc. In other words, all creative offerings are welcome.
To submit: Please follow the link to the form attached below. Please be ready to provide your artist bio, (just a few sentences about who you are, what kind of art you specialize in, experience), 3-4 photos of work you wish to submit (it must be work that has been created in the last year) and artwork information for each piece (i.e. title, medium, dimensions). Please complete the form completely.
Additionally: The entry deadline is March 22, and you will receive communication regarding your art and show selection by March 29. If you do have pieces selected, they need to be dropped off at Havner’s on the following days: April 1- April 5. All art work not received by 6 pm on April 5 will not show as we will be installing art for the Opening Reception and need ample time to prepare.
